RAID is a meditation on mental illness in women.
The film was inspired by an article featured in the New York Times in 1972 titled "Women and Madness." Phyllis Chesler, a psychologist and a feminist wrote, studies show that “a predominantly female population... has been diagnosed, psychoanalyzed, researched and hospitalized by predominantly male psychiatric population.”
The film begs the question:
What constitutes mental health in women?
